It's no secret that I enjoy real estate 'reality' TV shows. I find it amusing that despite all the shenanigans they often do get something fundamentally right, namely that people are at the heart of every transaction.
But in real life the client should be the focus--not the agent, and as for the drama, instead of causing it, I work to minimize it.
I have negotiated multi-million dollar contracts as supply chain and purchasing manager for an international group of manufacturing companies headquartered in the GTA, during my 25-year career in supply chain management.
Prior to that, in my hometown of Peterborough, I played French horn in the Symphony Orchestra while studying Geography & Psychology at Trent University, and graduating with a Bachelor of Science followed with a Materials Management Diploma from Fleming College and a Supply Chain Management Professional designation.
After moving to Waterdown with Van, I began compulsively following the local real estate market. After helping my mother-in-law with the sale of her home the light bulb went on, and I signed up for the Sales Representative Program at OREA Real Estate College. Always learning, I have also completed the Broker Registration courses with Van.
Jen tells me that I'm not allowed to sing, but I am allowed to write songs and stories. Mostly stories.
Published in national and international magazines such as Canadian Aviator, Canadian Geographic, Costco Connection, Photography Monthly, and The Walrus, I now share with you the everyday adventures of the People in Your Neighbourhood™ on our blog.
A seasoned photographer and aspiring filmmaker, I am currently working towards my (drone) pilot certificate -- advanced operations.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University School of Business, and a Paramedic Diploma with Dean's Honours from Mohawk College.
Having served the community for 25 years as a professional firefighter, when Jen started her real estate studies, I realized that by approaching it as a helping profession it would be a great fit for me as well.
Real estate is also a team sport, and I enjoy collaborating with my broker of record, office staff, cooperating brokerages, home inspectors, contractors, stagers, movers, lawyers, and others.
But the best part? I get to work with Jen.

We really love our new home and love living here in the community--it's a great place!
Thank you both again for all your kindness, help and generosity with our move, we deeply appreciate it!
