Hansen House

Meet Jen Hansen

It's no secret that I enjoy the odd real estate 'reality' show. I find it amusing that despite all the shenanigans, they often get something fundamentally right, namely that people are at the heart of every transaction.

Of course in real life I believe the client should be the focus--not the agent, and as for the drama, instead of causing it, I work to minimize it.

I have negotiated multi-million dollar contracts as supply chain and purchasing manager for an international group of manufacturing companies headquartered in the GTA, during my 25-year career in supply chain management.

Prior to that, in my hometown of Peterborough, I played French horn in the Symphony Orchestra. I studied Geography & Psychology at Trent University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science, followed by a Materials Management Diploma from Fleming College.

After compulsively following the local real estate market, and then assisting my mother-in-law with the sale of her home, the light bulb went on. I signed up for courses at real estate college, and registered as a sales representative. Always learning, I have also completed the Broker Registration courses with Van.

Meet Van Hansen

Jen tells me that I'm not allowed to sing, but I am allowed to write songs and stories. Mostly stories.

Published in national and international magazines such as Canadian Aviator, Canadian Geographic, Costco Connection, Photography Monthly, and The Walrus, I now share with you the everyday adventures of the People in Your Neighbourhood™ on our blog here at Hansen House.

Always striving to improve my photography, I am currently working towards my Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (drone) Advanced Pilot License.

Looking through the lens of the way-back machine, I graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University School of Business, and later a Paramedic Diploma with Dean’s Honours from Mohawk College.

Having served the community for 25 years as a professional firefighter, when Jen started in real estate, I realized that by approaching it as a helping profession it would be a great fit for me as well.

Real estate is also a team sport, and I enjoy collaborating with my broker of record, office staff, cooperating brokerages, home inspectors, contractors, stagers, movers, lawyers, and others.

But the best part? I get to work with Jen.

Be Where You are Meant to Be. Love Your Neighbourhood.

What clients are saying

Jen is a wonderful Realtor®!

She explained everything we needed to do to prepare our home for sale. She also coached us through the week of showings, open houses, and the final night when we read through multiple excellent offers.

By anticipating our needs, Jen had solutions for any questions or concerns that arose, and by keeping us so well informed, she greatly reduced our stress.

Jen handled the whole process with the greatest competence, professionalism, and with respect shown to all parties involved.

In addition, Apex Results Realty Inc. Brokerage staff who contacted us to schedule the showings were great to work with and we appreciated their friendly assistance.

The experience of selling our home exceeded our expectations in every way. We highly recommend Jen Hansen to anyone who is seeking the smooth and successful sale of their home.
